a Day

Well, I'm not going anywhere far, anytime soon, so...

With a year of travel plans on hold, I've decided to live in the moment and have an adventure every day until I fly away.

I'll be taking on a variety of small and epic challenges for 1 whole year, to keep me motivated and adventure-ready! One day I could be climbing mountains, the next running for the ice cream van.

As well as having a bit of fun, I want to push myself and explore what I'm really capable of. I want to take time to learn, volunteer and acknowledge each day, even if it's just for 20 minutes.

Honestly, committing to something new EVERY DAY frightens the bejesus out of me. It feels like a huge undertaking, and mentally with all this COVID nonsense, I'm still feeling pretty fragile. But I believe that accomplishing something joyful, regularly, can only benefit me in the long run.

So, why not?

Changing up the day, creating or learning something new and getting outside is fantastic for your health, and essential for a happy noggin.

I'll be posting a photo/video on social media of each day's shenanigans. At the end of every month, I'll write a little blog post with a round-up of my adventures and send it out to inter-space.

Is there anything you think I should try out? Fire away in the comments below or contact me on social media, I'll give most things a go. Equally, if anything I do tickles your fancy, get involved and (when it's safe to do so) join me! Adventure is way more fun with people, and I'd love to see what everyone else is up to.

All of us are capable of living adventurously. Some things I've already considered are activities inspired by friends who do them for a living (or for giggles). I'll always include links and tag anyone who has helped me on this journey and hope they inspire you too.

Who knows where a breakdance, hike, bike, or backflip will take you?

#betheweirdo who dares to enjoy!

As many of you aware I was supposed to be travelling across Africa and India this year, fundraising for the grassroots charity, Help Refugees. Their work means a lot to me, and I would like to continue to support them throughout this project. You may notice me wearing their flagship 'Choose Love' t-shirt A LOT.

If you're following this 'lil old adventure of mine and it sparks joy for you, please consider supporting me in my fundraising endeavours. Check out the link below for more information.

Thank you!

Help Refugees deliver fast humanitarian aid to people affected by the global refugee crisis, funding projects in refugee camps throughout Europe and The Middle East. They find the local organisations doing the most effective work and give them what they need to help people – be it funding, material aid (food, clothing, shelter) or volunteers.  They support projects such as Refugee Trauma, who provide mental health care and support for children suffering acute trauma, and Refugee Rescue UK who work tirelessly to ensure the safety of people making the dangerous migration crossings.
